Texas License to Carry (LTC) Class
Our Texas LTC course meets all requirements set by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and is taught by a certified NRA instructor. Whether you're a first-time applicant or renewing your license, we'll walk you through everything you need to know.
What's Covered in the LTC Course:
- Texas laws regarding the use of force and deadly force
- Handgun laws and non-violent dispute resolution
- Safe storage of handguns
- Proper use, handling, and storage of a handgun
- Shooting proficiency demonstration (range qualification)
- Must be 21 years of age or older (18 for active military)
- Must be a Texas resident or U.S. citizen
- Must not be prohibited from possessing a firearm under state or federal law
- Must complete the classroom and range portions of the course
- Must submit fingerprints and application to Texas DPS after the course

Do I need to own a firearm to take the LTC class?
No. We can provide a firearm for the range qualification portion of the course. Just let us know when you contact us.
How long does the LTC class take?
The classroom portion is typically 4–6 hours, followed by the range qualification. Plan for a full day.
What do I need to bring to the LTC class?
A valid photo ID, your handgun and holster (if you have one), at least 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection. We'll confirm everything when you register.
How much does the LTC class cost?

How do I apply for my LTC after the class?
After completing the course, you'll submit your application, fingerprints, and fee to Texas DPS online. Your LTC certificate from us is required as part of the application. Processing typically takes 30–60 days.
